The Intelligence Hub is an editorial platform. We publish interviews, opinion, reported articles and fact-checks on sustainability in India, written by the people doing the work.

What we publish

Interviews, 1,000 to 1,800 words. A conversation with someone whose work or decisions matter: an officer, a practitioner, a researcher, an industry leader. Write to us before you conduct one so we can agree on the subject and the angle.

Opinion, 800 to 1,200 words. A clearly argued position. Take a side, say why, and ground it in evidence. We publish opinions we disagree with. We do not publish opinions that rest on nothing.

Articles, 1,200 to 2,000 words. Reported or analytical. A question answered with data, fieldwork or both. Field notes on what was attempted and what happened, including what did not work, belong here.

Fact-checks, 600 to 1,000 words. A claim in public circulation, tested against the record. State the claim, name who made it and where, show the evidence, and give a plain verdict. Check the claim, not the person.

What we ask

Original and unpublished. Not on blogs, LinkedIn articles or newsletters either. If a version exists somewhere, tell us and we will decide together.

Sourced. Every figure and claim carries a source, cited inline or as endnotes. A news report quoting data is not a substitute for the data.

Fact-checked before you send it. This applies to every format, not only the fact-checks. Check numbers against the original source. We check too, but a submission that fails on accuracy is not returned for correction.

Free of plagiarism. All submissions are screened. Quoting is fine where it is brief and attributed. Paraphrasing still needs a citation. Reproduced text ends the submission.

Right of reply, where it applies. If a piece criticises a named organisation or individual, you must have approached them for comment. Include what they said, or that they did not respond.

Conflicts declared. If you or your employer has a commercial interest in the subject, say so upfront. We will usually still publish. We will not publish a conflict we find later.

Written, not generated. Use AI tools if they help you research or draft. The reasoning, sourcing and judgement must be yours.

What we will not publish

Promotional content or product write-ups. Press releases in article form. Personal attacks. Anything we cannot verify.

Attach the piece as a Word document or Google Doc link. In the email, include your name, designation and organisation, a two-line note on why you are qualified to write it, a 40-word summary, and any conflict of interest.

Send the finished piece, not a pitch. Interviews are the exception: write to us first.

What happens next

Acknowledgement within five working days. Editorial decision within three weeks, either way. Accepted pieces may be edited for length and clarity, and you will see the edited version before it is published.

We do not pay for contributions at this stage. Published contributors are credited in full and are eligible for consideration for the SSAVE Circle. Copyright stays with you.
